Transition Tuesday: Transition vs What You See

Transition is a true testing grounds for who we are and the depth of our faith.  It is the place where our trust and faith grow if we will take the time to learn as we walk through the process.  Transition also brings a time of testing where what we see is not always what we expected.  It may not be the vision that God gave you just yet, but hold on.

Right now my husband and I are walking through this time.  We know God is up to something…we just are not sure yet what that something is in our lives.  We are living by faith knowing that God has directed our steps so far, yet we must live out each day while we wait.

Many times this is the true testing ground for faith.
Will you continue to have faith when you cannot see what is coming?

At times Bryce and I have stumbled.  We have tried to take over control again because God is not working within our timetable.  When we do that, it only brings us farther away from where God is taking us and what He wants to do in us right now.  The key is obedience.  Will you do as God asks?  He knows all the turns for the journey ahead.  He knows the best way.

“Though I yearn to help, I will not violate your freedom.  I stand silently in the background of your mind, waiting for you to remember that I am with you.” Jesus Calling, May 25

The toughest battle you may fight right now is the battle of the mind.  When our minds start to stray the Devil will come in like a kid at recess.  He wants to play around with your mind.  Swing you from side to side and get your head spinning so fast you don’t know which way is up.  He wants to yell and scream so that even if you try you can’t concentrate.  You MUST remain focused on God.  He is our guide.  He is where our peace comes from during this time of transition (AND ALWAYS!).

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord whose confidence is in Him.  He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.  It does not fear when heat comes; it’s leaves are always green.  It has NO WORRIES IN A YEAR OF DROUGHT and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

When we can remain focused on and tapped into the Source of all things, we will not find ourselves in the agony of the moment.  I know that sounds perhaps even too simple, but the act of living this out is quiet complex.  If we trust in God, He will not only bring peace to our circumstance, but direction to our feet.

“The very steps we take come from God; otherwise how would we know where we’re going?”
Proverbs 20:24 MSG

If you are currently walking blindly by faith, I want to encourage you to continue on the same path that God had set you on before things got fuzzy or quiet.  If you need re-directing, God will share that with you.  God back to the truths and scriptures He gave you before and stand on them.  Many times I will remind God of what He said.  I will remind Him of the promises He gave me and that I am standing firm on them.  I know that He will do as He said.  I know that I don’t have to worry or focus on the issues of right now because He said He would take care of it.

What are the promises or promptings God has given you?  Write them down so that you can be reminded of the truth God has given you.
