No matter what I do or where I go, it seems God has a message. It’s not complex or profound. In fact, it is a simple message wrapped in love.
Keep your eyes of God. Trust Him. Find Joy in all situations.
Life situations come and go. There’s good and not-so-good times. There are times when what God is doing makes total sense and there are times when you can’t see what He is up to right now. My question for you is: will you follow Him, trust Him, and even find joy in whatever God brings into your life?
The joy we find from keeping our eyes on God and trusting in all circumstances is not a fake smile and mask wearing joy. This joy comes from deep within us. This joy is only found in complete trust and reliance on God. It does not necessarily come the first moment you say you will have joy; instead, it takes a position change to turn your heart and the head towards God.
“True Joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons…anywhere.” Jesus Calling October 5
I can’t say I’ve mastered this, in fact I’ve found having joy in the hard situations very difficult. At times, I get so caught up in the planning and problem solving that I don’t take the time to let God speak. Honestly, how crazy is that statement?
“If you make problem-solving secondary to the goal of living close to Me, you can find Joy even in your most difficult days.” Jesus Calling October 5
I find reassurance when I look in the scriptures and especially in Proverbs 16. I know it is acceptable to make a plan, the key is to GIVE IT BACK TO GOD. Make a list of 1 year and 5 year goals. Pray over them and ask God to align your heart with His as you work through them. Give God those plans back to God. Then pray about your steps (micro-goals) and follow Him even if you can’t see with your physical eye where He is leading you.
“Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3
“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
What plans are you making that you need to give back to God to let Him sort out? Are you praying about the steps you are taking?
