Is it funny now that this is my word this year? Who would have known back at the end of 2014 that this year would require so much embracing. It’s hard, not gonna sugar coat that at all. God is asking me to take my old ways and trade them out for new ways. Have you ever had to do that? For me, it goes against what I WANT to do. God has been using many things in my life to work on me, but I know I want to go all in with this thing he’s doing in my … Continue reading

We are Tennessee Bound!

I have some of the craziest, best news to share with you all. My family is moving to Tennessee! (I really need to learn where the double ee’s belong because that took way too many times to type!) This story still leaves me a bit speechless, but I’ll do my best to tell you the amazing God things going on. Well, it all started 18 years ago. No, I’m not joking! For those of us who would like to know now all the parts of our future, well, just stop. It just doesn’t work like that. We had no idea … Continue reading

My Prayer

I just finished the book Forgotten God by Francis Chan this morning. It was an excellent book about the Holy Spirit. At the end of the book, Francis Chan writes a prayer that stood out to me. It wasn’t anything grand or abnormal necessarily, but it stood out all the same. Here is a small sampling: We need Your wisdom and understanding as we seek to live this life. Keep us from disbelief, from fear. We need Your strength to help us do what you are asking us to do and to live how You are asking us to live.  … Continue reading

You are Unique (in all the good ways!)

For awhile now I’ve been looking around at the unique people in my life. Some I know, some I simply observe. These people are pretty amazing. They have skills many don’t possess because while each of us is unique, a greater emphasis is put on their uniqueness. There’s a boy at my church who is super motivated. He is always volunteering and looking for more ways to help. People could look at his intensity and perhaps get frustrated, but I see a willing soul who gets the vision of giving to others. While I don’t know him or his parents … Continue reading

Decision Making WITHOUT Guessing

Many of us Christians spend more time analyzing what is going on in their lives, than praying to God and asking Him to lead them.  Let me unpack that statement.  Have you ever made a decision and then questioned whether or not God was in it?  Then you look to what happens (due to that decision) to judge whether or not you were correct?  Ah!  What a horrible way to test your decision!  Or perhaps, that is the problem right there.  It was your decision.  You made it thinking that was where God was leading you due to this or that, … Continue reading

Waiting. Round 2.

Can you remember back to taking a test in high school or college where you thought you aced the test only to find out you failed miserably?  Did that ever happen to you?  I can think of a few tests that I totally bombed!  You know when you think you’ve passed the test and then realize you actually were not as awesome as you thought?  Yeah.  That realty stinks. Recently, we were called to wait (AGAIN!).  I’ve learned that I wasn’t living out awesome.  That’s a pretty humbling thing to find out!  What I believed was grand faith, turned out to … Continue reading
